A Very Special Testimonial

01/27/2015

Dear Dr. Alexander,

How can I begin to thank you for taking care of me when I was suffering from the abdominal cyst that you successfully removed three weeks ago at Hackensack University Medical Center.

It was a very scary experience for me but knowing that I would be operated on by one of the region’s most prominent and respected pediatric surgeons certainly gave me a great deal of comfort and confidence, both before the procedure and afterward. We came to Hackensack because we knew that you would be my surgeon.

After you came into the hospital room and explained my situation to me with your calm and sensitive demeanor, I felt less nervous and more secure, especially with you assurance that you would make the smallest incision possible and perform the operation in such a way that the cyst would not grow back. I was in tremendous pain and you took the pain away.

Thanks you for taking the time to explain to me all of the different parts of the procedure and for helping me to understand and feel secure about the after effects of surgery and hospitalization, such as sleeping issues, numbness and other concerns of mine and my parents.

I have had many visitors and phone calls from friends, family teachers and neighbors and a lot of balloons as well. We have so many balloons in our living room that my mother calls it the “balloon garden.”

I finally feel strong enough to go back to school and resume my normal activities. Before things get to busy, I wanted to make sure I took the time to write to you and thank you for your special care and skill. G-d put me in good hands.
I hope you continue to enjoy your illustrious career helping children and that all your surgeries are as successful as mine and I wish you many healthy, happy and fulfilling years ahead.
